What is Chili Crisp?
Chili crisp is a well-known Chinese condiment made with infused chili oil containing bits of crunchy chili, onions or scallions, garlic and other aromatic seasonings. It has spicy heat since it uses dried chili, but it’s not overdone. It holds a rather mild chili heat but offers a bolder taste for stir-fry dishes.
Chili crisp has many uses – drizzle over dumplings, noodles, or use as a condiment to add more flavor to a dish. You can purchase chili crisp in any Asian market or online store.

I dislike cilantro. Can I sub basil or parsley? This looks delicious!
Hi Lori
Yes, you can use basil or parsley instead of cilantro. Thanks.

Where’s the amount of green onion in this recipe?
Oh, I forgot to write that down. You will need about one green onion. Thanks for letting me know.
Chili crisp is good stuff — love it. We use it to make an Asian version of the southern US classic, shrimp and grits. Your recipe looks great — thanks.
